Charity Mother's Day Tea

Rcd_tri_tsmi

Spring is upon us, and the excitement and activity level at our facilities always increases this time of year.  I wanted to make you aware of one that is scheduled for Mother’s Day, Sunday May 14th.  Consider visiting our showroom and museum on this day for an afternoon tea for charity.  Between 2:00pm and 5:00pm EDT, Replacements, Ltd. will host a charity tea to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  This event is free to the public and is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day.  The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is a national organization that is working to bring an end to breast cancer.  It was founded in 1982 by Nancy Goodman Brinker in honor of her sister, Susan Goodman Komen.  Susan, or “Suzy” as she liked to be called, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978.  At the time, much less was known about this disease than now.  Before her death at the age of 36, Suzy requested that her sister help in finding a cure for breast cancer.  The Susan Goodman Komen Breast Cancer Foundation manages a number of programs whose work is to eradicate breast cancer.  One focus of the organization is education.  They offer a very informative website, http://www.komen.org - and a toll-free help line for those interested in telephone assistance.  Additionally, the foundation offers a number of research grants and the “Komen Foundation Award”.  Replacements, Ltd. is honored to invite you to this special event, and donations large and small will be accepted.  Donations are not required though, and your support alone will be most appreciated.  After enjoying tea and refreshments, if interested you can peruse the many offerings of our 12,000 square foot showroom, the rare and exotic collection of china, crystal, silver, and collectibles in our Museum, and take a guided tour of our 300,000 square foot facilities.  Our showroom staff offers tours of our facility every half hour from 9:30am to 6:00pm daily.  This charity tea is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day and help fight breast cancer.  Our showroom and museum are conveniently located between Greensboro and Burlington, NC, at exit 132 off Interstate 85/40.  If you have questions regarding this event, you can reach us toll-free at 1-800-REPLACE (1-800-737-5223) seven days a week, 8:00am to 10:00pm ET (we answer the phone very quickly).  Click here for directions to our facility and more information regarding this event.  I hope to see you at Replacements on Mother’s Day

It's been a while...

Silver_march_april_cover  Things around Replacements, Ltd. have been busy.  Spring is in the air and so is change.  Recently, my boss, Jack Whitley was promoted to Senior Vice President of E-Commerce.  In addition to this, the offline and online marketing teams merged.  This is going to be a great opportunity for me to learn more about the promoting of dinnerware and collectibles.  Each person in this unique marketing team brings with them a wealth of product knowledge...which is great for the readers of this blog!  You'll have more opportunities to learn about the inner goings-on of the tableware market.

Aside from the changes at Replacements, Ltd., I am busy completing my degree at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.  I have only two weeks of school and then I begin, for the first time, a day schedule at Replacements.  I am looking forward to this because it provides me with an opportunity to work so many new individuals.  This past Friday, I celebrated my six year anniversary at Replacements.  I started as a phone sales representative in 2000.  From there, I went to work in customer service focusing on our bridal registries and email customer service.  Three years ago, I began my this job as the company's online content specialist and have written copious amounts of text for our website and this blog.

It has been quite a journey and I have loved every minute of it.  The coming years are going to prove more rewarding as I search for new ways to keep our customers informed of the latest trends in the tableware market, write informative newsletters, and work with our Silver Magazine team.

I can honestly say that working for Replacements, Ltd. has been one of the most rewarding (if not the most rewarding) experience of my life.  I look forward to keeping in touch with my readers and responding to your emails.  Thank YOU so much!
